Thanks Windows Update...

Windows told me it had updates to install. "OK" I thought. What harm could there be in that - I mean after over two years what could go wrong? Well, now my computer is unable to detect my speakers, microphone, and webcam. I have no sound. At all. Nothing. I have the speaker icon with a red "X" over it. It tells me: "No audio output device detected." Awesome. A quick search on Google reveals this not uncommon after a Windows update. It also reveals that most people have found it to be very difficult and time consuming to fix. Awesome again! I have always had a quiet disdain for Microsoft. Now - it is anger, outrage, and sadness. Microsoft - you have made me very sad. I may cry.

Maybe... just maybe.

I lied a little in the post. I do have sound. I have that little "bing" noise from the internal speaker now and again. Awesome.

Or at least a reason why Vista is the worst MS operating system since Windows ME...
